Pre-Trib Rapture In Revelation 12:1-5

Revelation 12:1-2 – “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.”

The woman in these two verses is Israel.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 – “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

The “they” in 1 Thessalonians 5:3 is Israel, Israel is likened to a woman with child, the woman in Revelation 1:1-2 is Israel.

Revelation 12:3-4 – “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”

The child that Satan tries to devour is Jesus Christ, in Matthew 2:13 Joseph is warned by an angel that Herod wanted to kill Jesus. In Matthew 2:16-18, Herod killed all the children that were in Bethlehem in an attempt to kill Jesus.

Revelation 12:5 – “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.”

When Jesus ascended up to heaven, it didn’t say he was “caught up” it said he was “taken up” (Acts 1:9). When this verse says “her child was caught up” it’s referring to the body of Christ. Jerusalem is the mother of us all (Galatians 4:26), we are members of the body of Christ in a literal sense, we are members of Christ’s body, flesh, and bones (Ephesians 5:30). 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says that the body of Christ is “caught up” at the rapture. Revelation 12:5 is referring to the body of Christ, the child of the woman, being “caught up” unto God (aka the rapture).

Revelation 15:1-5 is yet another portion of scripture proving a pre-time of Jacob’s trouble catching away of the bride of Christ, and refutes the post-trib heresy.
