God Chastens Those Who Are Living In Sin

The word of God teaches that God chastens those who he loves.

1 Corinthians 11:28-29 (KJV) – “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.”

sinning leads to “eating and drinking damnation” (note: it’s not damnation in the sense of losing your salvation, it’s damnation in the sense of being punished in the flesh by God).

1 Corinthians 11:30 (KJV) – “For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”

Paul is talking to saved people (hence why he says “among you”). They were people having problems with their health as a result of “eating and drinking damnation.” There were even some among them that died as a result of “eating and drinking damnation” (hence why Paul says “and many sleep”).

1 Corinthians 11:31-32 (KJV) – “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”

Paul makes it clear that God will chasten those, but they won’t be condemned to the world. 1 Corinthians 11:32 lines up with 1 Corinthians 5:5.

1 Corinthians 5:5 (KJV) – “To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”

When someone is too far into sin, they will get chastened and they might even get delivered unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh (ties back to why Paul said “and many sleep” in 1 Corinthians 11:30), the body of flesh is destroyed but the spirit is saved (hence why Paul says “that the spirit may be saved”), an example of this can be found in 1 Timothy 1:19-20.

1 Timothy 1:19-20 (KJV) – “Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”

The self-righteous conditional security heretics will try and use this to prove that you can lose your salvation, which is a complete twisting of what is going on. When Paul talks about the faith being made shipwreck, he is simply saying that there were people who messed up their lives and spiritual walk by sinning (contrary to what the Catholic-Calvinist conditional security heretics say, spiritual walk and salvation are NOT the same things. Salvation is a once and done event, the spiritual walk is a lifetime process), Paul confirms this by saying that Hymenaeus and Alexander were delivered to Satan, they didn’t lose their salvation because lost people don’t need to be turned over to Satan because Satan already has them, they were delivered to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so the spirit may be saved (1 Corinthians 5:5).

1 Corinthians 5:5  also ties into 1 Corinthians 13:16-17

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (KJV) – “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

When somebody defiles their body (the temple of the Holy Ghost), God will destroy that person, their flesh will be destroyed so the spirit may be saved.

The fact is that living in sin will lead to chastening from God. The chastening of God can be very severe at times, you can lose your health, you can lose rewards at the judgement seat, and you can even lose your life if you are too much into sin.

Historical And Scriptural Proof For Paul's Apostleship

 

Scriptural proof:

Peter affirmed Paul’s apostleship in 2 Peter 3:15-16:

2 Peter 3:15-16 (KJV) - "And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

Historical proof for Paul's apostleship:

Ignatius of Antioch (AD 35-110):

Ignatius of Antioch was a 1st-century pupil of the original Apostles. (1)(2)(3)

This 1st-century Bishop gives evidence that supports Paul’s association with the other Apostles of Jesus Christ, thus confirming Paul's apostleship:

“I do not command you, as Peter and Paul did.” (4)

“You are initiated into the mysteries of the Gospel with Paul, the holy, the martyred, the deservedly most happy, at whose feet may I be found, when I shall attain to God; who in all his Epistles makes mention of you in Christ Jesus.” (5)

Polycarp of Smyrna (AD 69-155):

Polycarp affirms Paul’s apostleship.

“For neither I, nor any other such one, can come up to the wisdom of the blessed and glorified Paul. He, when among you, accurately and steadfastly taught the word of truth in the presence of those who were then alive. And when absent from you, he wrote you a letter, which, if you carefully study, you will find to be the means of building you up in that faith which has been given you, and which, being followed by hope, and preceded by love towards God, and Christ, and our neighbour, is the mother of us all.” (6)

“For if a man cannot govern himself in such matters, how shall he enjoin them on others? If a man does not keep himself from covetousness, he shall be defiled by idolatry, and shall be judged as one of the heathen. But who of us are ignorant of the judgment of the Lord? Do we not know that the saints shall judge the world? as Paul teaches. But I have neither seen nor heard of any such thing among you, in the midst of whom the blessed Paul laboured, and who are commended in the beginning of his Epistle. For he boasts of you in all those Churches which alone then knew the Lord; but we [of Smyrna] had not yet known him.” (7)

Clement of Rome (33 AD – 99 AD):

He affirmed Paul’s apostleship:

“Owing to envy, Paul also obtained the reward of patient endurance, after being seven times thrown into captivity, compelled to flee,and stoned. After preaching both in the east and west, he gained the illustrious reputation due to his faith, having taught righteousness to the whole world, and come to the extreme limit of the west, and suffered martyrdom under the prefects. Thus was he removed from the world, and went into the holy place, having proved himself a striking example of patience.” (8)

“Take up the epistle of the blessed Apostle Paul. What did he write to you at the time when the gospel first began to be preached? Truly, under the inspiration of the Spirit, he wrote to you concerning himself, and Cephas, and Apollos, because even then parties had been formed among you.” (9)

Phlegon (second century AD), Greek historian, (The 202nd Olympiad is dated between July 29-June 33):

“In the 4th year of the 202nd Olympiad, there was a great eclipse of the sun, greater than had ever been known before, for at the 6th hour the day was changed into night and the stars were seen in the heavens. An earthquake occurred in Bythinia and overthrew a great part of the city of Nicaea.”

John Philoponus ( 490 – 570 AD), an Alexandrian historian, confirmed the writings of Phlegon:

“And about this darkness, Phlegon recalls it in the Olympiads…he mentioned the eclipse which took place during the crucifixion of the Lord Christ, and no other (eclipse), it is clear that he did not know from his sources about any (similar) eclipse in previous times, and this is shown by the historical account of Tiberius Caesar.”

Psalms 22 Is Fulfilled By The Crucifixion Of Jesus Christ

Psalms 22 is a prophecy about the crucifixion of Jesus.

Psalms 22:1-2 (KJV) - "To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. Lawful Marriage In The Bible

 

What is a lawful marriage in the Bible?

The Bible is clear that marriage is one man and one woman coming together to be one flesh.

Genesis 2:24 (KJV) – “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

In other words, no same-sex “marriage” or polygamy.

Jesus Christ affirmed marriage between one man and one woman:

Matthew 19:5-6 (KJV) – “And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

Divorce is prohibited exept if the spouse commits fornication with someone else:

Matthew 5:32 (KJV) – “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

Matthew 19:9 (KJV) – “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

Joining up with a prostitute is also prohibited:

1 Corinthians 6:15-16 (KJV) – “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.”

Interracial “marriages” are also prohibited:

Ezra 9:1-2 (KJV) – “Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.”

Ezra 10:1-3 (KJV) – “Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore. And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.”

Ezra 10:10-14 (KJV) – “And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel. Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives. Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do. But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing. Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.”

Incest “marriages” are also prohibited:

Leviticus 20:11-12 (KJV) – “And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.”

Leviticus 20:17 (KJV) – “And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.”

Leviticus 20:19-21 (KJV) – “And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity. And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.”

So a lawful marriage in the Bible is one man, and one woman, of different kindreds, that aren’t blood-related and aren’t fornicators or prostitutes.

Polygamous “marriages,” incest “marriages,” same-sex “marriages,” and interracial “marriages” are not lawful marriages and are wicked and sinful in the eyes of God.

The Two Fulfillments Of Isaiah 25:8

 

Isaiah 25:8 is fulfilled in two separate events.

Isaiah 25:8 – “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”

The first part of Isaiah 25:8 (“He will swallow up death in victory”) is fulfilled at the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:54.

1 Corinthians 15:54 – “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”

Paul is referring back to Isaiah 25:8, that is why he says “that is written” and quotes the first part of Isaiah 25:8.

The second part of Isaiah 25:8 (“the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces”) is fulfilled at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ at the great white throne judgement in Revelation 21:4.

Revelation 21:4 – “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

2 Common Portions Of Scripture Twisted To Support Door To Door Soul Winning

The most common verse used to support door to door soul winning is Acts 20:20-21.

Acts 20:20-21 – “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, 21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The context of Acts 20:20-21 is NOT talking about door to door soul-winning!

Acts 20:17-20 – “And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. 18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, 21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:”

Paul is saying that he is teaching SAVED PEOPLE house to house. Paul is teaching them publicly, and then they meet in the house to house.

This is NOT about door to door soul winning, this is about teaching Christians from house to house, and they are meeting in houses.

Another common portion of scripture used to support door to door soul winning is Matthew 10:11-15.

Matthew 10:11-15 – “And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.”

They are staying in people’s houses, this is NOT about door to door soul winning.

They are going out and preaching the gospel PUBLICLY, and they are needing a place to stay while they are there.

3 Definitions Of A Pharisee

There is a common trend among easy believism heretics is to accuse preachers of righteousness of being self-righteous Pharisees. By accusing preachers of righteousness and holiness of being self-righteous Pharisees just proves that the easy believism heretics have no idea of what a pharisee is.

Here are the three definitions of a pharisee according to the word of God.

Definition #1:

Matthew 15:1-3 - "Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?"

According to Matthew 15:1-3, a Pharisee is someone who overthrows the commandments of God by their man-made traditions. The Pharisees were condemning the disciples of Jesus for transgressing the man-made traditions of the elders, Jesus responds by telling them that they are violating the commandments of God by their tradition. Again, a pharisee is someone who puts tradition above scripture and tries to overthrow the scriptures by their tradition. A good example of this are Roman Catholic Priests, every Catholic priest is a pharisee because they put the man-made papal traditions to the place of scripture and even above scripture. Many of the Catholic traditions completely contradict scripture, Catholic priests overthrow the commandments of God by their tradition. Preachers of righteousness who hold the scriptures as their final authority are not Pharisees.

Definition #2:

Luke 12:1 - "In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."

According to Luke 12:1, a Pharisee is someone who is a hypocrite. A Pharisee would be a religious leader that condemns people for sins that they are guilty of themselves, this theme is also seen in Matthew 23:27-28. Preachers of righteousness who admit their faults and don't condemn people for sins they themselves are guilty of are not Pharisees.

Definition #3:

Luke 18:10-14 - "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

According to Luke 18:10-14, a Pharisee is someone who is prideful and self-righteous. A pharisee comes before God boasting about their holiness, they don't humble themselves. Pharisees are filled with pride and self-righteousness, they will never admit to being wrong or being a sinner. A preacher of righteousness who preaches against sin but is also humble and admits to being wrong and admits to faults and sins is not a pharisee.

A Pharisee is someone who puts man-made tradition above scripture, is a hypocrite, and is filled with pride and self-righteousness. A preacher of righteousness that holds scripture as his final authority, isn't a hypocrite, and is humble and admits to faults and sins is not a pharisee.

The Spiritual Evil Of Socialism And Communism

One of the biggest misconceptions about Jesus Christ is that Jesus Christ believed in, propagated and promoted socialist ideology. While it is true that some aspects of socialism are scriptural, the core principle of socialism is an end to private property. All throughout scripture we read about private property and ownership in a positive light. Private property is indeed scriptural.

Numbers 27:7-10 - "The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them. And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren. And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren."

We see that when the property owner dies, his property doesn't go to the government or become state property, his inheritance goes to his family. This would not be the case if the nation of Israel was under a socialistic regime.

Exodus 22:1 - "If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep."

This portion of scripture clearly gives an example of property ownership. If a thief takes the belongings (in such case it was cattle) and sells it, they have to pay the owner back. This is another clear and articulate example proving that the nation of Israel was not a socialistic regime.

Proverbs 19:14 - "House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD."

This verse of scripture clearly proves that houses (property) are the inheritance of fathers (not the government). The government didn't have ownership over the property.

Socialism and socialistic ideology is not good for economic reasons and is certainly not scriptural!

Capitalism Is NOT Biblical

Jesus Christ was NOT a capitalist, he was not a money obsessor or a money lover. And for the record, I am not a socialist, a Nazi, or fascist. Socialism and Nazism are two sides of the same Jesuit coin.

A perfect example proving that Jesus Christ was not a capitalist is found in Matthew 6:24. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus says that you can't serve both God and mammon (money). A new testament Christian either follows God or money, there is no in-between or middle ground.

Matthew 6:24 - "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

The apostle Paul expressed the same mindset and sentiment.

1 Timothy 6:10 - "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Three of the four gospel accounts make mention of a rich young ruler desiring to follow Christ. Jesus Christ tells the rich young ruler that it's hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24, Mark 10:25, Luke 18:25).

Sola Scriptura Is Biblical And Taught In Scripture

One of the biggest lies from Roman Catholicism is that believing scripture as the sole and final authority for Christian conduct and belief is heresy. The Catholic Church have set themselves up as equal in authority as the holy word of God. Catholics have set aside the word of God for the words of men (Church councils, Catholic catechisms, Quotes from “Church fathers” and “Saints” etc) which often contradict each other.

Just go in Instagram and look as posts from the average Catholic Instagram page, they quote from Church fathers and Catholic saints in almost all their posts, they very rarely even quote verses from the Bible. In an idolatrous fashion, they have set up the words of the Church fathers to the same authority of the word of God.

The concept of following the Bible as the sole authority is 100% biblical and taught in scripture. Obeying the divinely inspired word of God over man-made (and pagan) Catholic traditions is biblical. Let God be true, and every man (including Rome) a liar (Rom 3:4).

Jesus responded to Satan’s temptations with “it is written” not “I declare” or “the traditional view is.” Jesus quoted scripture as a rebuttal to Satan’s temptations, not tradition.

Matthew 4:1: Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Matthew 4:2: And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
Matthew 4:3: And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:5: Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Matthew 4:6: And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Matthew 4:7: Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matthew 4:8: Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Matthew 4:9: And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Matthew 4:10: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Matthew 4:11: Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Jesus expected people to understand the scriptures themselves (this flies in the face of the Catholic teaching that only the church can read the interpret the scriptures).

Mark 12:24: And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Matthew 22:29: Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

John 5:39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Matthew 26:24: The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Luke 10:26: He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Jesus always references scripture but never references oral tradition to back up doctrine.

Matthew 12:3: But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

Matthew 12:5: Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Matthew 21:42: Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Mark 12:10: And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

Lastly, Paul said that we are not to put anything above what is written.

1 Corinthians 4:6: And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
