Islamic View Of Deuteronomy 18:18 Debunked

Islamic apologists and scholars love to say that Deuteronomy 18:18 is a prophecy about Muhammad.

Let's have a look at Deuteronomy 18:18 and by comparing scripture with scripture, we will see who this "unknown prophet" is.

Deuteronomy 18:18 (KJV) - "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

This prophet turns out to be Jesus Christ!

Acts 3:20-22
(KJV) - "And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  21  Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.  22  For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you."

Stephan confirms that Allah, Muhammad, and his Imams are liars.

Acts 7:37 KJV) - "This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear."

Let's compare Moses with Jesus.

Moses volunteered to take the sins of his people.

Exodus 32:30-33 (
KJV) - "And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.  31  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.  32  Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.  33  And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."

Jesus Christ also took the sins of his people.

Matthew 1:21
(KJV) - "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

Acts 3:26
(KJV) - "Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

Muhammad never did anything of the kind.

Moses shone with a supernatural light.

Exodus 34:30 (KJV) - "And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him."

Jesus also shone with a supernatural light.

Matthew 17:1-2 (KJV) - "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,  2  And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light."

Again, Muhammad never did anything of the kind.

Moses died and was resurrected to appear in Matthew 17:3.

Matthew 17:3 (KJV) - "And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him."

Jesus Christ also knew God face to face.

John 1:1-2
(KJV) - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2  The same was in the beginning with God."

Again, Muhammad never did anything of the kind.

So by comparing scripture with scripture, we clearly see that the prophet in Deuteronomy 18:18 is clearly Jesus Christ.
