Understanding Dispensationalism
Understanding Dispensationalism is understanding that God dispenses his grace in different ways in certian time periods. Right now, we are in the time of the gentiles (aka the church age), salvation today is by grace through faith alone (See Eph 2:8-9, Gal 3:10-14, Gal 3:22-26, Rom 10:1-4, Rom 5:1-2, Rom 3:21-30, Rom 4:3-6, Gal 3:7-9, Rom 4:11-13 in the Pauline epistles), we are also eternally secure and sealed (See 2 Cor 1:21-22, Eph 1:13, Eph 4:30 in the Pauline epistles).
Under the law, salvation was not by grace through faith alone, if a wicked man didn't turn from his wicked ways, he dies in his sin (See Ezekiel 3:18-20, Ezekiel 33:8-9). Ezekiel 33 & 3 also cleary teach that if a righteous man doesn't warn the wicked man and the wicked man dies in his sin, the blood of the wicked man is on the righteous man's hand, they were NOT eternally secure under the law.
During the time of Jacob's trouble, the Bible makes it clear that if ANY MAN takes the mark of the beast and worships the image of the beast, they go to the lake of fire (See Rev 14:9-11), the passage doesn't make a distinction between lost and saved people taking the mark, it says "ANY MAN" takes the mark, they go to the lake of fire, there is no eternal security during the time of Jacob's trouble, salvation is by faith, but not faith alone because saved Christians can't take the mark of the beast.
Understanding dispensationalism is knowing that God's grace is always there, but the plan of salvation has not always been the same.
