Catholics will vehemently claim that they don’t worship Mary, despite the fact that they call her unbiblical and blasphemous titles like the ‘mother of God’ and even the name of a pagan goddess called the ‘queen of heaven’ (Jeremiah 7:18, Jeremiah 44:17-25). Roman Catholicism is nothing more than repackaged pagan roman-babylonian witchcraft, they have incorporated pagan forms of worship and practice into their system.
Catholics have many heresies and false doctrines regarding Mary, from the immaculate conception, to the perpetual virginity etc.
One of the false doctrines regarding Mary is the perpetual virginity.
CCC 499: The deepening of faith in the virginal motherhood led the Church to confess Mary’s real and perpetual virginity even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man. In fact, Christ’s birth “did not diminish his mother’s virginal integrity but sanctified it.” And so the liturgy of the Church celebrates Mary as Aeiparthenos, the “Ever-virgin”.
But what saith the scriptures?
Matthew 27:55-56 – And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.
Matthew 13:53-56 – And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
Mark 15:40-41 – There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
We clearly see here that Mary had other children, Catholics will try and twist these verses to explain them away, but we clearly see that Mary was not a virgin her whole life.
Another doctrine about Mary is that she was sinless, this is known as the immaculate conception (Properly called, the immaculate deception).
CCC 493: The Fathers of the Eastern tradition call the Mother of God “the All-Holy” (Panagia), and celebrate her as “free from any stain of sin, as though fashioned by the Holy Spirit and formed as a new creature”. By the grace of God Mary remained free of every personal sin her whole life long.
But what saith the scriptures?
John 2:1-5 – And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Romans 3:10-12 – As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
In John 2:1-5, Mary made a mistake and Jesus had to correct her, this wouldn’t be possible if she was sinless. In Romans 3:10-12, we are told that there is none righteous, in verse 24, we are told that ALL have sinned, this applies to Mary as well.
One of the biggest lies about Mary that is taught by the Catholic Church is that Mary is the co-mediator, our advocate and that she makes intercession for us.
CCC 969: “This motherhood of Mary in the order of grace continues uninterruptedly from the consent which she loyally gave at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, until the eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation . . . . Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.”
But what saith the scriptures?
1 Timothy 2:5-6 – For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Hebrews 9:14-15 – How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 12:24 – And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
1 John 2:1-2 – My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Romans 8:26-27 – Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
The Bible is clear that CHRIST is our advocate before the Father, he makes intercession for us, and he is the ONE mediator between God and men.
The Catholic Church undermines Jesus Christ with their heretical worship of Mary.
